Velodyne Acoustics presents the new Deep Waves and VI-Q subwoofer series at ISE 2023
Low-frequency specialist Velodyne Acoustics exhibited at Integrated Systems Europe in Barcelona the new Deep Waves and VI-Q subwoofer series, presented for the first time, both of them are controllable via app.
Deep Waves series
Velodyne Acoustics has made special use of the experience from the ultra-compact MicroVee X series. A similar design with a front-firing driver and passive radiators on the sides ensures unimagined presence. The iWoofer™ app also provides users with the best possible support in adapting the subwoofer to the room and their listening preferences.
The subwoofer can also be integrated into the loudspeaker system in a classic and simple way via RCA inputs for the LFE channel and loudspeaker terminals.
Deep Waves Series Class D amp has 350 watts RMS power or 600 watts maximum power for the 10-inch model and 400 watts RMS power / 800 watts maximum for the 12-inch subwoofer. A 2.5-inch voice coil with four-layer winding, together with a nitrile rubber surround, enables an extremely excursion. The cone is made of a particularly lightweight paper composite material, which prevents partial vibrations and distortion even at a larger excursion. The high-quality MDF housing with additional reinforcements also helps to minimize disturbing resonances.
With the VI-Q series, Velodyne Acoustics is introducing a newly developed subwoofer series with a closed cabinet, lightweight carbon fibre cone and 3-inch voice coil, which is outstanding for its excellent impulse reproduction from the smallest volume. In addition to low distortion values, these models also focus on particularly convenient operation: the iWoofer™ app is used for room adjustment and the 25-band parametric EQ as well as presets in the software offer users full control. Available in three sizes, from 10 inches via 12 inches to 15 inches, there is the right subwoofer for every situation.
VI-Q series
The 15-inch model has a maximum SPL of up to 120 dB and a precisely tuned Class D amplification of 650 W RMS or 1200 W maximum. For the highest demands on the power VI-Q mount a highly efficient switching power supply with 2 x 25 A / 650 V MOSFET transistors. The solid front is made of a 21-layer multilayer plywood board with a material thickness of solid 50 millimetres to guarantee low distortion values. On the back, professional XLR connectors, RCA jacks and speaker terminals ensure the best connectivity
The new VI-Q and Deep Waves series will be available at authorized dealers from February 2023.
